This was my first book illustration and formatting project. As such it was a lot of work and learning, but it also was a lot of fun!
I was given the manuscript and free reign as far as illustrations and pages were concerned. I wanted to give it a kid feel, so all of the illustrations are cartoonish. These are just a few of my original sketches.
It was the most exhilarating thing to see my first book in the flesh, so to speak.
This might just be my favorite illustration. It's very simplistic, but so imaginative.
